18. How do temporary tattoos work?

Temporary tattoos work through a process called "reverse printing." When you apply the temporary tattoo on your skin, the water in the paper dissolves the glue, allowing the ink to transfer onto your skin.

19. How do you apply temporary tattoos?

To apply a water transfer tattoo, you need to clean and dry the area of your skin where you want to place it. Then, you remove the protective plastic sheet from the tattoo, press it firmly onto your skin, and using lukewarm water wet the back of the paper with a sponge or cloth. After a few seconds, you can gently peel off the paper to reveal the tattoo. You must rinse off the remaining adhesive from the surface of your tattoo and then leave it to set on your skin for a minimum 20 minutes, it will be fully set within a few hours and start looking more matte over time. For more detailed instructions please see our ‘How To Apply Page’.

Our temporary tattoos can be easily removed with rubbing alcohol, baby oil, or even just soap and water. Gently rub the removal solution onto the tattoo until it starts to fade, and then wash the area with water.
